Whatever

Suddenly,

I lied to you and you lied to me  and we lied together in a bed of words underneath a blanket of false promises in the room of my heart where it was often cold. There was endless poetry in the tack tack tack of your high heels walking away from the room with the key in your small hand.

I surrendered to a bubble of future words left unspoken.
The room shrank as my heart clenched.
Whatever.
